The Recreational Programs

Recreational Soccer (U6 to U14)

The Southwest Kickers’ recreational teams are community-driven as they are staffed by volunteer coaches, assistant coaches and managers.  Our recreational soccer program features co-ed and girls-only teams from U6 to U14.  We are dedicated to offering youngsters and their families the opportunity to participate in soccer in a fun and rewarding environment.

Fall Session and Games

The Fall season runs from August to November with the games beginning after Labor Day.  Games are played on Saturday and Sundays typically between 9 AM and 4PM.  There are eight scheduled games plus a ‘9th’ indoor game at Uihlein Soccer Park.

Spring Session and Games

The Spring Season runs from April to mid-June with games beginning after Easter. Games are played on Saturday and Sundays typically between 9 AM and 4PM.  There are eight scheduled games in the Spring.

Winter Season - Optional

During the Winter, teams may opt to participate in a Futsal or Indoor Soccer league.  The fees for these leagues are not included in the Fall/Spring registration fess.

Tournaments

Teams may participate in tournaments throughout the local area.  These tournaments are optional and participation is at the discretion of the team.

Registration

Registration for recreational soccer begins on May 10th for the upcoming Fall and Spring seasons.  Any registration received after June 30th is subject to a late fee.   The registration fees are for both the Fall and Spring Sessions.

The Southwest Kickers Soccer Club will accept Spring-only registrations beginning January 1st through February 28th.  Any registration after February 28th will be accepted at the club’s discretion.  

Player Information (Assignment, Practices, etc)

Players are notified of their team assignments and practice schedules in late August. Players receive the location of team practices through their coach. The coach also will distribute the schedule as soon as it is available.  

Player assignment is done in accordance with Wisconsin Youth Soccer Association rules and regulations.  Requests and previous team assisgnment are honored whenever possible.

At the recreational level, all players are expected to play at least half of every game, except in cases of injury or discipline. However, playing time also is at the coach’s discretion based on practice participation and attendance.
